Licensing

The LemonEdge application, services, and tools are protected by copyright and international treaties. Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of this program, or any portion of it, may result in severe civil and criminal penalties, and will be prosecuted to the maximum extant possible under the law.

License Types

The following licenses are valid license types:

  • Trial
    A time limited trial license for development and testing. Not valid for production. Only provides access to the LemonEdge client applications requiring a direct SQL Server connection and does not provide access to the services, or tools required for production use such as the web/task services.
  • Developer
    A full license for internal development and testing. This license is not valid for production use either.
    Provides access to the full suite of LemonEdge client, services and tools.
  • Partner
    A full license for internal development, testing, and client implementations. This license is not valid for production use either.
    Provides access to the full suite of LemonEdge client, services and tools.
  • Production
    Valid licenses for production use come in 3 tiers with various different capabilities. They are all valid for production use, see our pricing guide for a detailed explanation:
    • Basic
    • Professional
    • Enterprise

Acquiring a License

If you are running the system unlicensed, or with an expired license, the system will prompt you at every login that this is the case. 

Note: You are *not* licensed to use the application for production purposes with an invalid or expired license.

To acquire, or renew your license, simply email us at hello@lemonedge.com requesting a Trial, or License renewal, with the following details (which will be used in the license):

  • Your Company Name
  • A valid company email
  • License Type

Updating Your License

Once you have been provided a license it will be of the following form:

Name: YourCompanyName
Email: YourValidContactEmailAddress
Max External User Count: XX
Expiry: YYYY-MM-DD
Type: Basic
Max Production Databases: XX
Max Custom Objects: XX

License Key: ZZZZ

To update your license in the LemonEdge platform, perform the following steps:

  1. Login as Admin (or another used with permissions to modify accounts)
  2. Go to Open Architecture -> Account Maintenance
  3. Open up your root account (Unique Account ID 1)
  4. Enter in your License Info precisely (including case sensitivity) as you have been provided above for the following:
    1. License Name
    2. License Email
    3. License Type
    4. License Expiry
    5. Max External Users
    6. License Max Production Databases
    7. License Max Custom Objects
  5. Then select the command "Update" and copy/paste your provided valid License Key (ZZZZ above) into the popup box. 
  6. If any of the above details have not been entered exactly you will get an error when you click "Ok"
    1. Verify everything is entered exactly as you've been provided, and try the "Update" license command a few more times to make sure there are no typos.
    2. Contact support (support@lemonedge.com) if you can not verify your license
  7. The license is valid. You can verify this by selecting the command "Verify"
  8. Click Save to commit your changes
  9. The next time you login you should see your new license details are valid.
