Ledgers

Ledgers are core to Transactions and GL Postings. Every Transaction, and GL Posting record is associated with a Ledger.

Ledger Features

Every Transaction and GL Posting is recorded against a Ledger. Reports can always group, aggregate and filter Transactions and Postings across Ledgers. You can create as many different Ledgers as you need in the system.

Depending on how a Transaction Code is configured a Ledger will automatically be populated for a Transaction, or the User will be able to choose the Ledger.

Likewise for the GL Postings automatically created for the Transaction, each one can have a specified Ledger from the Transaction Code configuration. This means it's easy to setup a Transaction that automatically creates GL Postings hitting Base, Hypo, Tax and other Ledgers all in one Transaction.

Reporting

Ledgers are easy to report across, and provide a consistent way of analyzing Transactions and GL Postings.

GL Rollups allow you to report across all GL activity in an easy to create hierarchical report. For each header of GL Posting data you can specify which Ledgers you want to include making it easy to report across individual Ledgers and combined.
