Help about views that are specifically tool windows and thus work against active layouts.
Tasks
The Tasks is a tool window [more info] which allows you to view, edit and add tasks to any given item. This integrates with the workflow by providing the ability to add tasks against any item to form part of a workflow process.
Documents View
The Document View is a view which shows all documents for the current item. This view is part of the Documents Tool Window, but can also be added to any custom layout to show instantly the Documents for any given item and allow them to be updated, downloaded, or new ones to be created. This works well for items such as Tasks that require Documents as part of a configurable workflow.
Documents
The Documents is a tool window [more info] which allows you to view and configure the current documents against any given item. This integrates with the workflow by providing document trails for processes and items as teams progress through various steps.
Comments View
The Comment View is a view which shows all comments for the current item. This view is part of the Comments Tool Window, but can also be added to any custom layout to show instantly the Comments for any given item and allow new ones to be created. This works well for items such as Tasks that require Comments as part of a configurable workflow.

The Comments is a tool window [more info] which allows you to view and add comments to any given item. This integrates with the workflow by providing a history of conversations from team members around processes and items in the system.
Watchers View
The Watchers View is a view which shows all current watchers for the current item. This view is part of the Watchers Tool Window, but can also be added to any custom layout to show instantly the Watchers for any give item and allow them to be modified. This works well for items such as Tasks that require Watchers as part of a configurable workflow.
Watchers
The Watchers is a tool window [more info] which allows you to view and configure the current watchers against any given item. This integrates with the workflow providing notifications and ensuring items appear as tasks for other users where configured and required.
History View
The History view is a view which shows all the history for the current item. This view is part of the standard Usable History Tool Window, but can also be added to any custom layout to show instantly the history of changes for a given item (including just a certain field) if that is required for data sensitive areas.
