The Document View is a view which shows all documents for the current item. This view is part of the Documents Tool Window, but can also be added to any custom layout to show instantly the Documents for any given item and allow them to be updated, downloaded, or new ones to be created. This works well for items such as Tasks that require Documents as part of a configurable workflow.
Documents Features
The Documents grid is a current view of all Documents against a given item.
When viewed from the Tool Window this view will show Documents for the current item, or through the standard Selection View Tool Window, it can show documents for any selected grid row.
Documents also allow you to download any document, and to view its history to download prior versions.
Document Properties
The Documents grid has the following properties:
Name
Description
Name
The name of the document ignoring any file extension
FileType
The type of file ascertained from the file extension
Version
The current version of the document. Automatically increments every time a new version of the document is uploaded
Description
A user friendly description of the document
Last Updated
The date/time stamp the document was last udpated.
Commands
The Document view has the standard set of commands and functions when being viewed from a grid. See our standard grid functionality.
The Documents grid also has the following custom commands:
Download Downloads the current document to your device locally
Upload Uploads a copy of the document from your local device to the system overwriting the current version.
