The Data Sources is a tool window [more info] which allows you to view and edit external data source keys that are associated with records in the system. This way you can hold as many different 3rd party keys against data as you require for reconciliation, importing, exporting and more.
Data Source Features
For each data source type you have setup in the system you can define a unique key for any record in the system. This key can be used (via data mappings) as a key to match on when importing data from 3rd party sources, or as external keys to match disparate data sources together during reconciliation reports.
The Data Sources tool window works against the currently active layout and has the selection header view to enable the functionality to also work against the currently selected rows in a grid as you work with them.
Views
The Data Sources Tool Window allows you to modify 3rd party data source keys through the following views:
Selection View Allows you to select between the current active layout and data and the currently selected rows of grids within it.
Data Source View Allows you to view and modify data sources against the current active data record
