Client - Core Application

The Core Application is a cross platform application designed to work on Linux, Windows and Macs in a consistent manner with the all LemonEdge functionality except Office integration.

Core Desktop Compatibility

The Core Desktop application is a multi-platform application the can run on Macs, Linux and Windows.

The Core Desktop requires .net core 3.1 to run correctly.

The Core Desktop aims to provide all the functionality of the Full Desktop Application where possible that can work across different operating systems seamlessly.

This application is not fully supported yet, and is still in a beta mode. We are evaluating this technology against others such as Microsoft Maui to see which offers the best capabilities to work across platforms.

Core Desktop Features

The Core Desktop application contains all the LemonEdge capabilities where possible that can work universally across any operating system.

As a result of the application being cross platform some functionality maybe restricted, as follows:

• Graphics
  • Some Charts and Structure Diagramming aren't in the application yet, but will be over time
    This is an area we are actively improving.
• Office Integration
  • There is no integration with Excel or Word. Data can still be exported to csv and utilised in operating specific applications.
• Layout Designer
  • The Layout Designer is only operational in the Full Windows Desktop
• General Control Editing
  • The controls and grids aren't as fluid as they will be for the Full Desktop Application due to working across multiple operating systems. 
    This is an area we are actively improving.

In essence the Core Desktop Application still allows manipulation of all LemonEdge functionality just through restrictions for Windows specific functionality such as Office Integration.
